Yo-yo,
I've been using standard testor's enamels out of the jar for some time now and have never been truly satisfied with their performance. Mostly for their lack of shelf life. And the mess, while manageable, I would not miss it were it to go away.

I've never been trusting enough of acrylics to make the switch.
I am finally able to make the molds for the fuselage. The heat was preventing the rubber from curing properly-- it was curing too quickly and not flowing through the jacket. Actually, I should say the problem was discovered on a different project, thus these molds were never done until now.

I have documented the process of making these molds using my still camera. I started using my DV camera, but the resulting video would have been way too long. And this way, everyone can view...

One of the things I came up with during the construction of the 11-foot Discovery model, is a new way to construct certain kinds of molds. What follows here is sort of a step-by-step explaination of this process. Actually, I guess should say this is new to me and I've never seen it done before. Given the time RTV molds have been around and the number of creative people out there, I doubt I'm the first to do this!

What you see here is representative of almost all RTV molds, with the...
