        <![CDATA[ I was looking through dcharletta&#39;s excellent BluRay DVD captures on Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/charletta/sets/) and noticed a spacecraft I have never seen before.  In the
two links below to Space Station 5 shots, look in the Hilton Hotel office.  You can see a model of the Orion on the desk, but what is the larger delta-winged
white vehicle in the background?  Anyone have other photos of this?


In the second photo you can also see three astronaut figurines on a higher shelf.... ]]>

			<description><![CDATA[ I love archaic science fiction.  The idea of a defensive interceptor operating over the South Pole having a maximum flight duration of fifteen minutes tickles
me in a curious way.  I&#39;m sure there was some artistic licence that enabled the X-15 to operate with a little more practical capability.  Very cool! ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ Ah, yes. I definitely have thew Mike Mars books in my collection. He has two books specifically related to the X-15. And, unlike the US Air Force, Mike got to
fly the Dyna-Soar, too. :-)

Too bad they never had him fly on the Discovery! Maybe he could get assigned to the pickup mission on Discovery 2.

			<description><![CDATA[ Always love to talk to people about the X-15. Feel free to drop me a line anytime. I was so amazed to see one in that movie still so that I now have a direct
connection between my favorite movie and my favorite air/spacecraft. Of course, the X-15 was very popular in the media at the time the movie was in production,
and I have to wonder if the X-15 on the Hilton shelf is a simple construction from the old 1/64th scale Revell kit.

			<description><![CDATA[ Unfortunately, I do not have this shot on line anywhere. I&#39;ll have to see if I can work something out as it is a large photo (about 24x24, or so) and it is
mounted on board so as to be impossible to scan on my desktop scanner. I don&#39;t have the original slide, that came from someone else. At most, I would have
to take a photo of the photo, and see how that comes out to post.

			<description><![CDATA[ Yes, the larger model on the desk is similar in design to the XB-70 and may have been a concept model as a first stage for the Orion. Unfortunately we&#39;ll
probably never know. That office has many very interesting things in it. On the shelf where you see the astronaut figures, there is also a model of the X-15!

I think the most bizarre thing is that along the front of the guy&#39;s desk there are seven lucite blocks with rocks in them. They look like lunar samples and
