I need to get the text of the decals on the chestpack for the deep-space EVA suit. Does anyone of any photos clear enough where those can be resolved?

If you go to the HAL site thread in this forum there is a link to a person re-creating Dave's spacesuit from the movie complete to the last detail.

Dennis doesn't state what the text actually says. I keep checking his site and it hasn't been updated for over a year. I assume he's ultra-busy.
Maybe the HD version shows more but all I can make out is "Charging Instructions" but not the 2 paragraphs below them. --Jim

Ask anyone on this site how anal I am about the details, but unless you're going to do a full-scale suit you can't print decals detailed enough to have the correct text readable. On my laptop monitor, the picture above is at least 4 times larger than Scott's 1:12 scale astronaut's pack - even just making up nonsense text with the same rough spacing will be more than adequate for modeling purposes.
While it would be cool to know exactly what's said on the charging instructions, from a practical point of view it doesn't matter. Just my 2 cents worth ... |
