Over the past eon that the Underwriter's Project has been underway, the subject of trading came up only once. Now it has come up 4 times in the past month. This is one of the things that makes you go "hmmmm...." In fact, its made me think of two things...
First, trading 'work for work'. Actually, I should say that I do have deals pending with 2 people along these lines, but there is room for more. I've never really talked about a program like this, but I'm definitely not opposed to it. All of you are aware of what happened to my labor pool and I am looking for talented hands to farm work out to. Especially PAINTERS!! Oh, man... if I could find a good painter or two! Also, anyone who works in fiberglass (resin or epoxy). And electronics-- lighting specifically. This is definitely not one of my skills!
I am also not opposed to making straight trades. I am also not really into collecting any particular subject, so the coincidence of someone having something I'd be interested in is probably going to be rare. I should also say, just to be completely up-front, that I can't break any of the provisions of the Underwriter's Agreement in that I can't deal as a kit something that would be sold as a finished collectible. And I should also say that none of the 4 trade proposals went anywhere, but who knows-- I'm putting it out there in case something might work out.
No-- I don't have a 'wish list', that isn't the point of this. But, like everyone else, there are things out there I can't buy, or just don't want bad enough to part with the bucks.
If there are any questions, email me and we'll talk. I'm going to approach this from the standpoint of 'a few good deals are better than a lot of good deals', if that makes sense.
