Ok, I'm trying to post an mpeg of the electric door in operation from photobucket. Here are some photos of bowman figure and my '3d' button layout
on the control console. I should be able to insert the video also but it doesn't show up in the yuku post screen like these photos do. Anyone? Anyone?

Do you have to be a member to view videos? I get a generic 'welcome page'O w/ a log in...

go to search and type in mdftaz, it will ask if you want mdftaz folder (or whatever) and click on that.

mikeylikesitii,
That is truly pathetic! You really suck! Damn you. I need more details. This is something I want in my pod should I ever get around to build it. Will you be creating some sketches/plans etc of how you got this going please? I like the button idea too. All looks very nice. Thank you for sharing. Manfred |

I was too flabbergasted at what I was seeing to write it down before, but that is truly amazing work!!!
Individual buttons.... Jeez! I wouldn't have thought it possible! Congrats on fine engineering!!! Also, I guess it's just me that can't load that video... Searching the name you gave gives negative results as well -whether under phto. video or web searching...

you can't load video? In photobucket do a search, type in mdftaz and should give you my page, then click on image. If not let me know.

When searching 'mdftaz' it says no results, but look down the page and it asks if you're looking for the user mdftaz, so I found your video.
WOWWW!!! I knew the door had to work!!! Good placement for the buttons too! When Mike was asking about schematics, I think some basic diagram or description of where things go and are wired up. I figure there's a single gear wheel affixed to the upper inside pivot. From there I've imagined a series of smaller gears working along the walls -which are spatially impractical; some form of pulleys, posssible, but still need straight lines to work and if any breaks, that's that; I've also pictured some kid of pulley on each side of the door, simply rotating on the upper pivot and not attached to it... And then, where does the main gear box go? Under the seat? Is that the same motor for open and close functions and how do you get it to stop at the travel limit and not keep going? Is it possible to put the function buttons on the outside base, rather than the pod itself the way you have it wired? All these questions and more! There is nothing about your build that is not entreily phenomenal and yet another bar has been set!!! Congrats! Looking forward t your finishing details!!! 2

Tell us about how you made those hoses. The end attachments look really good too! --Jim

Thanks, it's nice to know it wasn't a complete waste of time. I will do some photos & maybe an mpeg of the motor assembly in operation. simpler
than you might think. The hoses were done with bare metal foil strips (ithink) and if you notice the boot & glove attachments were done with actual left
over chromed photo etch sprue. The real bear is reattaching the pod arms. That is complicated. It does work but consistently is a different matter. I hope to
show the arms open & close soon.
