Posts: 91 (11/05/08 14:48:25) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	At the risk of being nit picky about this movie I'd like to point out that the shot of the Discovery tumbling end over end from the transferred angular motion of the jammed centrifuge is completely wrong. In fact the ship would be rotating around its long axis and since you would agree that the mass of the ship is about 200 to 300 times greater than the centrifuge that rotates once between 30-40 seconds, the ship would rotate once between 6000 seconds ( 1 hour and 30 minutes) and 12000 seconds ( over 2 hours and 20 minutes). At this slow rate of rotation the centrifugal force on astronauts along the spine would be almost zero and they would have no trouble reaching and entering the command sphere.
