I have to admit I'm thinking about this kit a good bit. So, per the subject line ... how are people planning to display their Aries 1B kits? I'm considering trying to cobble together a simple counter height black piller about 16" square with a heavy plexi top surface to allow for an light underneath the model. Or should I go with a solid top surface and mount some of the new high intensity LEDs around the perimeter? Anyhone have any thoughts? pat----

I see Landing gear retracted, Interior lit to show detail. Slow rotatation should show off the additional Miles of piping I'm affixing to the the four dirty chemical engines. A R/C servo will be used to slowly extend the landing gear. The wonderfully rendered Airlock door should be operational; cutting this will take nerve (I'd like to experiment first with an extra hatch door pulled from a reject hull casting..Help! Scott??) Obviously the passenger tunnel between hatch and elevator will have to be scratch- built. I'm thinking of a hexagonal design similar to the Discovery storage Bay...However it should have Red lighting. I'd like your opinions! Say..No Starbucks prior to the elevator!! As much as I'd like to add the Whirlpool kitchen, It's not going to happen unless one of you out there develops a kit! Phil

But, they'd have to be bright and directional in some way. By the way, anyone have pics of the ARIES- B at Wonderfest?

It'd be pretty big .. I guess roughly 20-23" on each side.... but it would look awesome with the SuperBrights all around the edge of the base .... another kewl detail, would be build a bit of the pneumatic liftingarm that supports the landing platform underneath .. so the base itself would actually be lifted from the table. But first of all, I have to sign on to the Aries list .... I just need to find the money ... and I want to start my collection of Atomic City kits with the Pod ... again I just need to find the money first .. Hope to be able at that primo 2008 ..
