The only thing to note here is that all the areas in these photos that are still outlined in pencil have been done and this piece is finished!


All the dark gray panels are thin plastic. These are the very thin secondary panels that didn't get done on my smaller kit.







Kurt has been working on some other parts, but does not want any photos taken of them yet. He's picky that way!

This one shows the detail inside the window areas. There will be PE brass frames that fit into the slots.

Everyone should be aware that it looks like this model may take a few more months to complete. I was hoping to get the first ones out by Christmas, but I have to be completely realistic. The exterior may be done by that time, or at least partially molded. But the interiors can't be started until the complete hull can be cast, in order for the interiors to fit properly. Kurt is working as fast as he can, but everything on this is extremely critical. Both he and I tend to look at projects with our 'movie' eyes, which means stuff the camera won't see we don't have to build. But as the work progresses, it continually reminds us that this isn't movie work-- its museum work! Our ability to estimate how long things take was honed by years of figuring out what we don't need to build. Now we have to learn how to look at things in the opposite way and its really hard! Those of you who paid for your kits long ago, please hang in there. I think you can see that this is really going to be worth it. If you decide you'd rather have the money back, please email me.

As you've probably noticed, I did some housecleaning in this topic. While I'm leaving it open to posting, I'd rather you guys put your posts in the other topic and leave this one for photos. I'll leave up what gets posted here until I have more photos and then remove them. So if you want anything to remain, please post it in the other topic. Thanks!

Back when I posted those photos, and a bunch of others, I was using AOL to host the images. Over time, I put up so many that changing them over to the host I use now was just an impossibility. Normally this isn't a problem, but I changed the account name those particular photos were hosted and they were lost. Unfortunately, that was back at a time I did not save any other copies, too, so I have no way of replacing them.

One thing I can do is take new photos that show the same areas of the model, but I'll delete the old posting and post the photos in a new one.

This is a PDF file that I had a bit of fun with, but was way too time consuming so I won't be doing one like it again!

I've had to take that model apart to continue working on the masters and as of this writing, nothing is ready for prime-time, but we are getting very close. I will be posting an update very soon to describe the progress to date and answer the questions that have been piling up.
