A highly polished aluminum sheet is in place for the bottom of the door to track on.
A view from the oustide of the 'inner' interior shell. Asimple plastic bowl from the bath section of fred Meyer just $3.00....and it fits 100% and also fits perfect with Paul's interior lay out....I can never thank Paul enough for his efforts, info and great aftermarket goodies for this already awesome Atomic City kit.
Here is the door ready for decals, its not very white in this image...but it is.
The seat is the best I could come up with....as you know no real seat was used in the film and so I tried to keep with the design and style of the Pod interior.
White metal is not my fav stuff to work with but after some minor putty work, light sanding and polishing it turned out better thatn I first thought. I used steel rod and brass tubing for the hydraulics.

I never would have thought of that! (press n seal) Man, you are way ahead of me on your build (not that it's a race but I've got to get going before the Moonbus release or atleast before the space station 
). I'm starting a second interior just now as soon as I can find something that will work for a curved front wall. (that's what the bowl is used for Robert) --Jim
