It's looks to be a KILLER. Amazon UK has it to a very fair price at the moment, but the site features a very weird cover-shot. www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obi...58-2905547 Do any of you guys know, if it is the right (red/black) cover ,,,,, and it's just Amazon that made a weird picture. I've written Taschen to ask them, because I can't find the right place to ask at Amazon. btw. .. have you guys heard about the "The Stanley Kubrick Archieves" event/exibition in Rome, Italy in April ??? Great book. Today I received "The Stanley Kubrick Archeives". WOW, heavy book ... looks awesome... Well worth the money, and more.... Today it's exactly 7 years, since perhaps the greatest director of all times passed away. Can this be a coincidence?? Here's to you Stanley. A true artist, a true legend. It is a tour through Kubrick's films, and it has some 2001 pics I have not seen anywhere else before. The 12 frames of Kubrick's own print of 2001 I received was an awesome bonus: It was a shot from the side of Dave in bed as an old man pointing and looking forward, poised for his rebirth, with Dullea wearing a Stuart Freeborn makeup. I have it also for a reference photo of the inside of one of the ape masks. I have purchased a latex mask which Stewart Freeborn produced for 2001 but never made into a finished product due to it not being needed. (When he heard that Kubrick was having ape-men eat real meat, he knew that the oils would destroy the masks, so he made extras which he kept all these years.) More are available at propstore.com. Freeborn did other work, like creating Yoda & Chewbacca. . . The store owners see Stuart alot & are getting me a signed photo of him, too! I got my book from Barnes & Noble on sale & it was fast. I am very happy with it. PS- Kubrick does NOT sound at all like I thought he would. It explains alot about him, hearing his voice on the included CD.
