Posts: 211 (07/17/04 09:50:09) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None Probably pretty basic stuff, but I'm picking up a vacuformer on Tuesday (payment from a client for a small portion of bad debt) and any suggestions/tips/techniques would be greatly appreciated. I have a project that I'm going to use it on in the immediate future, of course. For example - do I need mold release? If so, what's the best thing to use? Also, the unit'll take 11x17" plastic (and it has a spiffy extra pump for the final suction to get every last bit of air out and make tighter pieces). Any thoughts on making an adapter for smaller material? Thanks! Paulbo

If the primer (or paint) has been on for a long time, it may not be a problem, but the heat will soften it and make it stick to the plastic. Second: Talcum powder is a good release, though with your machine you probably won't get a pull tight enough to make that necessary. In general, no release is necessary. You will also become familiar with how important proper venting of the pattern is. Sometimes you will be surprised at where you need to add a hole! Scott CaptCBoard@AOL.com
