I spent the better part of two weeks, visiting 10 stores around town and combing many websites to find the recommended Jade Satin -with no luck. Not even an image of what it looked like! I did find an alternative and plunged ahead with that regardless of the accuracy. It looked good and I liked it.
As such, I started this swatch page so folks can have a visual reference for the mentioned colors -even the fabled violet if you want to!
This way, if you cannot find the exact color you are looking for, you can have this reference in mind when searching for alternatives! Does every D-7 in the Empire have the exact same color scheme? Afterall, the D7 always looked gray or blue on screen!
Of course, if you are matching the D-7, you have the answer
Here's the Master Swatch so far. There is room for more and I am looking to fill in a couple slots at this point. There is still the infamous tri-color D-7 scheme to fill in as well. I figure silver and gold are standard enough colors that you can't go wrong on those and will leave them out of it...
Please add scans of your paint caps so we can get a broad range of tones going.
If you know how to properly clamp the levels of an image without distorting its color, please do so! Setting a neutral gray (128,128,128,) background helps to show the actual tone of the color. Otherwise please leave the raw scan so individual's can do it at home.
OR, email the scan to me and I will fix it up and post it!
