You have just entered ATOMIC CITY. As you are about to discover, we do things a bit differently here!
I know this Message Board format will be confusing to newcomers, but only at first. I think once you have gone through a couple of forums, you'll come to appreciate the interactive nature that exists here. We will have a more formal catalog format in the future, but this message board will continue to be a part of Atomic City. Registration is not required to post, in fact registration is not necessary at all! Everyone is welcome to explore and make comment! Each model project has its own forum. You can follow the development of any particular subject by reading through its forum. The first topic in any forum will be the ordering topic. This is where the price and description of the subject will be found, as well as its production schedule or the availability of stock on hand. Be aware that some of these may have outdated delivery dates listed and I'll correct them once someone points it out or I finally remember! We have two lines of products. First, the kits. These are models, sold in an unassembled state, to be put together by the modeler. Our kits are more like those made by companies doing injection-molded plastic in that the parts actually fit fairly well, though usually they fit perfectly. In the world of resin kits, no one can produce a kit where the parts all fit perfectly, but we sure try. Most of our parts are also free of flash. If there is any cleaning to do, it is very minor. We also provide any sheet plastic that might be needed, as well as paint masks and/or decals. Our second line of products is called the Underwriter's Project. This is a series of models from the film 2001: A Space Odyssey. All of the models in the UP are done as fully built and painted collectibles. As such they carry very expensive price tags. It should be noted that none of these models will be done as kits. The exception to this is certain sections of the 11-foot Discovery model have been done as very limited production kits, but not the entire model. Information about the Underwriter's Project is available in The 2001 Underwriter's Project forum. For some people, communication is a major concern. If you are buying things from us, you should be able to have two-way contact. This is why the format of our website is a message board, instead of a silent catalog and a shopping cart! Our phone number is also given freely and will be at the end of this introduction. Our goal is to make the best resin kits on the market. We also tend to make the largest! This can cause problems in production, but in the 12 or so years we've been doing this, we have yet to leave anyone out in the cold-- meaning, we always deliver. Because we want to provide the absolute best in kits, we also have to provide the best in service. Replacement parts are usually sent out within 2 or 3 days of receiving a request. We also let you define 'replacement part'! We don't care why you need a part replaced, we just replace it! If someone decides they want to attempt a risky modification, we give them the necessary parts to make sure they can still build the model if something goes wrong! During the time from ordering to delivery, if the client decides he's changed his mind, full refunds are given-- immediately if possible. And this extends to after delivery, as long as assembling the model has not been started. In other words, you risk nothing in buying from Atomic City! I can be contacted by posting in this forum, or any forum, or by email, which is usually displayed in my signature. Please contact me if you find you have questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for visiting Atomic City!
