Sorry for the delay, but here's some of the news you guys have been wanting.

First, the Command Module Kit, or CMK.

There are two things that have to be done. First, the repair of the CM master. This was damaged the last time a mold was made. Photos:








While these 4 extreme closeups show some of the damage, they don't do a good job of showing how pervasive the damage is. That sounds bad, but what this boils down to is the primer failed and just about all of this is a paint issue. I've sent the CM back to the guy who did this master and he'll be fixing it next week. Most of this damage is at the poles (top/bottom), though there are some problems overall. Estimated time for completion is two weeks. Estimated time to make new mold is no longer than another two weeks. I already have the jacket for this mold, so half the effort to make the mold has already been done. Kits will follow immediately. Since today is May 29, this all means kits will go into production in the beginning of July.


In this box you can see Module Groups 1 through 6 for 5 small Discovery models. Module Groups 7 through 11 will be finished in 3 days. I am making the spines in groups of 5. There are a couple of other things I want to get finished before continuing with any news of the small Discovery model, but I will be delivering some of them before the end of June. I will have more on this project toward the end of next week.

The Aries is hanging on to being incomplete by only a few hairs... More on that with the next Discovery news. And the big EVA Pod as well.

I need to say that all the complaints registered on this thread are completely legitimate. I was making an effort to publish updates on a more regular basis, but those fell silent in the more recent months. Looking at the situation now, I can see this was a direct result of not having Jim in the shop to pour resin. He was not able to work for months before he passed away. Doing his job and mine slowed both jobs down. I'm trying to find a replacement for him so I can get back to devoting my time to getting projects finished. But, this has really made me aware of the need to be more diligent.

There is something else I need to cover. I am in some serious trouble, financially. I don't need to go into any detail on this, so I won't. Its just a fact of life I have to deal with. What you need to know is I don't let this effect what I need to do to get these orders cleared. If I need to buy resin, Wells Fargo is going to have to wait for their payment. My credit rating was shot long ago, so any new 'incidents' won't do anything that hasn't already been done.

I know I'm leaving something out of this, so I'll apologize for that in advance and try to cover it later.
