The only thoughts I have are of getting the model finished in the next few weeks. The huge number of circumstances that have added up to this incredible, unbelievable delay are just too numerous to go over and as Robert guessed, many of them were never mentioned and have been long forgotten. I don't mean to build myself up by saying this, but there have been other manufacturers that have just given up and left their clients in the lurch over less. I can't do that. All I can do is forge on and deal with the problems I've created and get them resolved. But, to address two specific questions--

Did I think it was going to be this hard? No. Quite the opposite. It should have been much easier than this.

Would I have done things differently? Actually, there is a single thing that caused the entire problem. I had to move from Los Angeles in 2002.

When I started the Aries and other projects, I had access to quite a number of really good model builders. Here, in Hanford, there are none. All of my projects were started when I moved and my idea was to simply finish all of them myself. The major boo-boo after that was that I did the Mercury kit. This didn't go as planned either and took a whopping amount of money. It was the money I borrowed to finish that project that has caused even more trouble in that my monthly outflow of money tripled. This caused me to have to generate more money each month, which in turn caused me to have to divert my activities away from established projects. If I had not done this, I would have lost my house long ago. So, for every step I took forward, it caused more time to be added to getting everything finished. So, just like in Wargames, the only correct solution to the problem is to not play the game-- If I had never started the Underwriter's Project, I would not have had this huge burden settle slowly on my shoulders when I moved. The Aries would have been finished long ago.

In the end, all this hindsight as to exactly what happened is going to make the future much brighter. Once the Aries is in production, I won't be splitting my time between that and other things any longer. That will make the others much easier to finish up-- and they are all very close to being done now. The CM kit will be the next kit to be finished, quite quickly in fact. I hope to pour the mold for the CM next week, fingers crossed.

As Robert has observed, the wait has been long but the quality is assured. I don't like the way time has passed, but anyone sticking it out will reap the reward. Some have reached the limit of their endurance and have had their money returned. Some of those will buy the kit once it is finally out, some will not. I think most people just want to make the best of the situation. After all, there are bragging rights to owning a kit that took YEARS to receive, just to see the look on people's faces when they realize how crazy a model builder can be!

I'm very humbled by how many of you have stuck with me. I guarantee that once I've gotten each of these projects delivered, there will never be a delay in getting anything from me again!
