If you haven't noticed already, the control panel in the pod bay observation room (the one facing the camera), is identical to the pilot's control
panel in the Aries, which is identical to the mockup in the "Making of" documentary, which shows computer programmer controls from the '60s. It
also matches the Pod Bay's test bench left side (but only for the 1st 2/3). The Aries COPILOT's version is a mirror image of it, and IT matches the one
labeled "Documentation" in the studio warehouse shot in the docu, as well.
The pod bay observation room's control panel on the left (underneath the displays), has its left half identical to the Discovery cockpit's co-pilot
station. It's right half matches the panel in front of the right seat at the HAL station in the centrifuge.
In the centrifuge, at the station directly to the right of the food dispenser, it's central panel is a duplicate of a panel in the Discovery cockpit, just
above the front center window (you need production shots of this to see this one). ---> UPDATE...These two panels have slight differences in the
number, size and placement of the tape gauges in the tape gauge row, but everything else is identical.
The overall panel sizes may change, but the controls themselves are identical (except for the one exception above) and it may be that a few
different panels were built to minimum size, and then dropped into existing larger sized panels where needed.
The pod bay obs. room window frame is identical to the one at the Tycho moon outpost.
The bowl-like objects in the ceiling of the pod bay are identical to yellow versions on the floor of the Tycho pit.
The illustration of a domed city-like something in what could be an advertisement behind Dr. Smyslov on SS5 is also in the docu propped up against a wall in
the art studio.
